I wish I had a poem for you
For this moment
That speaks of ignored pasts
Of wasted presents
And hazy futures.
But as I look inside my heart
There’s nothing I find
But emptiness.
Not tied to each other
But the worn out thread
That keeps us together
Is hope
Like this single pink
Against all white.
Hope,
That new buds will grow
Even in the harshest weather
New places will be visited
New poems will be written
New life will grow
Against all distractions.
